Side effects: Curcumin may lower cholesterol. Severe overdose may cause irritation of the gastric mucosa, nausea and vomiting. Javanese yellow root should not be used in cases of gallstone disease, bile duct obstruction or jaundice. Women with fibroids or myomas should also not take medications containing Javanese turmeric.
